Dr. Roosevelt Montas, chairperson of the Academic Advisory Board of Cloud Peak Project, also teaches a summer class on political thought for first generation high school students at Columbia University, as discussed by columnist Frank Bruni in the New York Times on August 5, 2014. Dr. Montas is director of the Core Curriculum at Columbia, and associate Dean of Academic Affair at Columbia University.
This September, Cloud Peak Project plans to begin helping students apply to selective colleges from John Bowne High School in Queens, New York, where Dr. Montas attended high school. At Bowne, Cloud Peak Project hopes to find the next generation’s college professor, doctor, engineer, computer scientist, diplomat, journalist, business leader, or lawyer.
